This post-WWII psychological flick is rich in terms of superb performances from Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Amy Adams. Cinematography, editing, and costume design were all commendable. But, we cannot discount the fact that it's length and screenplay is agonizing.
