The movie is about an old man trying to fulfill his promise to his wife of whom he met during childhood and of whom he shares passion - adventure. The old man then pursues to realize the promise with a help from a cute junior wilderness explorer who is eager to help in order to complete his set badges and be promoted as senior wilderness explorer. Along the way, grim challenges and adventure await them.

In 2010, the movie made history as the second animated film ever to be nominated for Best Picture in the Oscars. During the awards night, it took two Oscars for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year and Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Score. To date, the movie has won 53 awards and 32 nominations.

I'm not really sure how many times I have already seen this movie, may be last night was either the third or the fourth time. Up (2009) never fails to fly you high in terms of adventure, comedy, and morals - the wonderful animation is a bonus. Certainly one of the movies one should watch for a guaranteed quality time.
